ECA Security & Safety Workshop to Take Place at Global Table Games & Game Protection Conference
The European Casino Association (ECA) will hold its 2024 Security & Safety Working Group meeting alongside the Global Table Games & Game Protection Conference (GTGC/GGPC) at the Hippodrome Casino in London from November 18th to 20th.
This collaboration marks an important expansion of the ECA’s annual Security & Safety meeting, now covering a wider range of industry-relevant topics.
The GTGC/GGPC will focus on key issues for the European casino industry, including Security & Safety, Safer Gambling Practices, Customer Experience Enhancement, Game Protection Strategies, and Technological Advancements in Casino Operations.
Guido Berghmans, ECA Board Member, Working Group Leader, and Director of Casino 2000 Luxembourg, stated, “We are delighted to merge our ECA Security & Safety Workshop with this conference. The event provides members with a valuable opportunity to engage with security experts and gain insights into the latest developments in game protection and secure casino operations.”
This marks the European debut of the GTGC/GGPC, which has seen success in Las Vegas over the past three years. Organised by game protection expert Richard Marcus, the conference will feature prominent speakers such as Simon Thomas (Executive Chairman of the Hippodrome Casino), Ted Whiting (VP of Surveillance & Asset Protection at MGM Resorts International), Mike Matranga (former Secret Service agent and founder of M6 Global Defense Group), Richard Noble (COO of Crown UK), and Michael Boettcher (President of Storm International), with Marcus himself also presenting.
Marcus, once known as the most notorious professional casino cheat, now uses his expertise to help casinos enhance their security and game protection measures. The conference will address various security risks in casinos, including AI in surveillance, facial recognition technology, and cybersecurity, making it valuable not only for Security Managers but also for casino executives across Europe.
On November 20th, security managers from ECA member casinos will gather with experts to share experiences and discuss ways to improve casino security practices during the annual Security & Safety Working Group meeting.
